Until the release of Quantico on ABC, it had been years since networks had seen a new drama resonate with the "Sundays at 10" audience. To help build anticipation around the first season, a full tease campaign for Quantico was developed around the show's star, Priyanka Chopra, the first Indian actor to star in a primetime drama on American TV. This included Priyanka-centric social teasers on everything from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and beyond. Not only was the campaign a success with over 600,000 followers between the major social networks, the show became a huge Fall success, being the highest-rated Sunday broadcast entertainment series for the season. More importantly, it was a major breakthrough for South Asians on TV, shifting demographics away from absurd stereotypes and caricatures.
